Grok: Starting out the week with a bang. light breakfast, salad for lunch and at least one hour at the gym, strength and light cardio.  Then a light dinner.  And no snacks tonight.....,
Husband:  He arrived Friday at a different airport than we had planned. I sat for 2 hours waiting.  At least I had my knitting.
Daughters: After we, daughter and I, picked up the husband, we drove to see the other daughter.  We dropped off one daughter with the other and then checked into the hotel.  Had a bit of a nap and picked both girls up for dinner at 5:30.  They ate their weight in sushi.  We then decided to go see a movie.  Stopped at the market and picked up favorite candy.  Off to a 10:00 showing of "Green Lantern" in 3D.
No more 3D for me.  Dropped the girls off and back to the hotel for the night.  Got up, picked up the girls and off to breakfast, where we met up with husbands friend.  Chatted and ate and off for the ride home.
Savings. Well I did get the candy at the market for the movie.  And I went on the internet for some samples. But i think we waisted more money then we saved.. Left the new shampoo and body wash at the hotel.  Saw a 3D movie because of poor planning. However I did share a breakfast, and we did not stop on the way home for Starbucks. Last but not least.  I stopped myself from buying this beautiful yarn because I did not have a specific pattern picked out...That's big for me!
Needles/Hooks/Crafts.  This week we got together on Thursday instead of Saturday.  We worked on the pool.  We designed and crafted our boxes for Starbucks for the July 4th holiday.  We just have to fill them.  I worked a lot on the blanket. I also worked a bit on the scarf.
Sewing. none
General.  I finished Fahrenheit 451 and started A Kiss to Remember by Sandra Brown. I should have this finished in a day or two.  I have to decide what classic to pick up next...I ordered the next "light reading" book.  Listening to a podcast by a women that knits and plays bag pipes.  I am really enjoying it.
We had my father in law over for dinner, he had been away to Italy and Chicago since we last say him and is heading to Virginia on Tuesday.  We had a lovely dinner prepared by my husband.  Moroccan
chicken, and cauliflower rice.  Yummy, thanks dear....

Well better late then never.  I was hoping to blog every Monday, today is Tuesday.
I am still following Grok.  But I am not seeing any results.  bummer.  So maybe I will follow Grok's eating a bit less and workout more.
I went out to brunch with my daughter and a family friend and her son. It felt really nice to go out and just enjoy the company of friends.
Husband: sent me a beautiful bouquet of roses and a heart warming card for our 25th wedding anniversary. He is due home the end of this week, Yay
Daughters: One is back at school and the other is partying and hanging out with friends.
Savings: still enjoying our blockbuster special.  I wanted a smaller wallet then the one I use everyday, for traveling.  I found one i really like from Harvey's seatbelt bags.  It cost $17.00 a bit of tax and free shipping. So for under $19.00 I am getting a wallet that will out last me...I also ordered a free sample of peanut butter to go.
Needles/Hooks/Crafts: I finished the baby hat and knit a pair of Mary Jane booties to match.  My first booties.  I have enough yarn left to make a set of mittens. So I will cast on those soon.    We have 280 friendship bracelets made so only 20 left.  Made some progress on my friends son's blanket.  Very little progress made on the simple scarf. I pick up the lace scarf I have been having trouble with.  I need to finish that scarf by Christmas. Seems reasonable.  I am having such a hard time with it.  We made 2 cards. One for father's day and one sympathy.
Sewing: Week before last I was having trouble with my bobbin tension.  I resolved that issue and was able to sew the blanket binding on to two of the blankets.  We are making quilts and blankets for Children's Hospital or Ronald McDonald House.
General: Well I finished listening to Fahrenheit 451.  So now on to a fiction CD after that back to another classic... Still listening to pod casts especially on the road and at the gym...

Been a while since i wrote,
I really want to keep this up but can't decide how to go about it.
Life style changes included a new diet if you will.  Eating like the cave men, Grok.
There is a workout that follows it too.  Well, I will try it..
Husband:Husband is due home in 10 days.
Daughters: Both girls home for a few days.
Savings:Went to Blockbuster and picked up a couple of movies.  There is a special going on if you rent a movie with a blue dot,  you can return it the next day and rent another of any movies for free until July. That is one movie a day with return. So we did.  Since most of my TV shows are between seasons this is great.  And the price is right.
I eat salads everyday at lunch.  I like the prepared salads but hate to pay $4 for one. So I bought some veggies and cooked up a couple of chicken breasts, and am making my own prepared salads for work this week.  It takes a bit of time in the morning, so maybe i can motivate myself to cut up the veg and chicken the night before.
Needles/Hooks/Crafts: Almost done withe the 300 friendship bracelets I want to send with husband on his next hitch. (end of July).  I have knit 7 wash cloths and have a large bit of cotton left to knit up for the church bazaar.  I knit a head band, and hair scrunchie from left over yarn given to me by the knitting group (knitwit saints) for the bazaar. Almost done with the child's hat, and i have enough yarn I am going to try my hand at booties this yarn was from  Salvation Army, and again for the church bazaar.
I am knitting a simple scarf for the kids at a camp for cancer patients.
And if that is not enough I have a blanket I am making for a friend who's son just got married.
Sewing: Made some simple pillow cases for my bed.  Pillow for the trailer.  Made a simple dress for my daughter out of material that we referred to as mermaid.
And finally I guess we are working on Christmas ornaments for the church bazaar.  We are trying to stay with the yarn/felt theme since it is a fund raiser put on my the knitwit saints.
General: I have been listening to many podcasts and I am currently listening to Fahrenheit 451 on audio CD's.
Hopefully I can keep this up and blog again next week.

I am back

Well it has been a while.  I thought I would keep this up.
Lots of things have happened in the last 4 weeks,  Daughter broke up with boyfriend and ran off.
More of the last 4 weeks troubles to follow.
Spent way too much time thinking about a women that has no business in my life, but my husband feels the need to have her there.  It is a shame.  He has lost so much because of her.  He thinks he's clever.  He has on idea what is going on.
I need to get on with my life.  Hair appointment today should help. Hopefully I will feel up to getting back to the gym.  He will be home on the 18th so I will definitely be at the gym everyday he is home.
So what is on my needles/hooks/crafts:
Well my needles, 1. I am swatching for a sweater for my oldest daughter.   2. switching a crochet pattern into a knitting pattern, my puzzle blanket, and making a swatch.  3. knit Christmas stocking ornaments that will be felted.
On my hooks, a sweater for me,
And my crafts, just finished Valentines for my oldest, now to finish the one for my youngest.
need to make a couple of birthday cards.  sew some new kitchen curtains.

Well, last night went better then expected.  Dr. said no surgery at least for now.
Everything fit in the 3 suitcases, lap top bag and back pack.  Except the camp chair.  Dinner was great we went to Outback Steak House.  Love me so onion.  And we even found some time to be alone..
By 10 P.M. we were on the way to the airport.  No traffic, no problems.
I dropped him off and waited a bit then drove off to my life.  As I was walking into the house I got a text message from him.  He was waiting to board the plane.  All has been great up until this point, too great.
Well someone booked his flight as economy.  So he had to pay an extra $160.00 for his luggage and was seated in a economy section, not business or first class.  Well he made it to Houston fine and at the last I spoke with him, he and his buddy Bert were enjoying the company of Mary, that is Bloody Mary.  His final jesture was to send me a picture of him in his seat on the Huston Express. I kissed the phone.
The last couple of weeks have been awesome.  I can not wait until he gets back.

Tonight he's off again

So the rush is on.  He is getting packed and over packed and then pack some more.  3 very full suitcases.
Also a stop at the Dr. to find out about scheduling hernia surgery.  And somewhere in between is some private time for us.  Then dinner and off the the airport for him to catch his 12:30 flight.  Then he is away for 5 weeks.
